The past two months have been incredibly productive for our little project, and we’re excited to share all the progress we've made!
One of the most significant milestones was completing the dirt work and drainage system. It was a major task to tackle, and we’re thrilled to have checked it off our list. Thank you Sam Sawdey Excavating!
Paso Robles Glass also installed all the windows and a sliding glass door, adding both functionality and a polished look to the property.
The interior was painted along with the kitchen cabinets. We were able to save the original hardware and we are so happy with how it turned out!
Inside the house, we’ve made great progress. The bathrooms are now back together, thanks to some fantastic Black Friday deals at Lowe’s, where we found stylish and budget-friendly vanities. In the spirit of upgrading, we also decided to replace the dishwasher and provide a washer and dryer for our future tenants—both also secured during the Black Friday sales.
We’ve wrapped up several smaller projects as well, including installing kitchen countertops, replacing outdated light fixtures, and adding new door knobs throughout the home. These finishing touches are really bringing the space to life. We chose to go with butcher block for our kitchen counters, it added just the right amount of warmth to the kitchen.
One of the most exciting transformations is the newly painted exterior of the house. The fresh coat of paint has completely revitalized the curb appeal, making the property stand out beautifully.
Of course, not everything went as planned. During one of the first storms of the season, the fence between us and the neighbors blew down. While this wasn’t on our immediate to-do list, we’re already working with local contractors to gather bids and develop a plan for a new fence. Our goal is to create a private, fenced-in yard for our future tenants, and we’ll tackle this project in 2025.
As we reflect on everything accomplished, we’re proud of the progress so far and look forward to completing the final touches. Stay tuned for more updates as we bring this project to completion!
